It's hard to believe it has already been a week and a half since I got to Norway. Seriously, time flies!
I've been spending my time walking around Trondheim, meeting people, visiting artists' studios... not really progressing yet with my own art.
The litho studio at LKV hasn't been used for a few years and there are some important things missing (namely a roller!) but I decided to give myself the challenge of trying to print something with what there is. (And there is a tiny little brayer)
In addition, I decided to do a drawing, with no print element, inspired by the Lademoen area around the studio. That may not seem like such a big deal, but I haven't created a completely non-print artwork in over 6 years! I love printmaking, but I now realize I don't necessarily have to use it for every single artwork I make.

  1. You are so talented and such an amazing artist! I love how you are willing to experiment with new techniques and immersing yourself in different cultures, which clearly shows in your art. I'm so proud of you, Val!
