I am very pleased to see that my lithograph Sense of Accomplishment was selected to be part of the 4th Guanlan International Print Biennial. The exhibition will be held at the Guanlan Original Printmaking Base in Shenzen, China, May 2013.

Upcoming

3 new works Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner were accepted as part of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking's 9th Biennial International Miniature Print Competition 2013. The exhibition will take place June 2 - September 1, 2013 in Norwalk, Connecticut. Find out more on their website.

Also, I donated 2 prints to Open Studio's 100 Prints 2013, a fundraising event and national printmaking award ceremony. It will be held on May 16, 2013 in Toronto. There is more info here.

修了しました！

大学院はあっという間に終わった。芸大で過ごした時間、素敵な想いでを一生忘れない。今日修士の学位を授与されたので、これから社会人として版画の制作を頑張る。きっと楽な事ではないが、将来に何が出来るかを楽しみにしている。

Today I graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts. I am now the proud owner of an MFA in printmaking! Yay!

New beginnings

School has ended, access to the amazing equipment at the University is over. While there are some co-operative print studios in Tokyo, I have not found there to be anything up to the standards or reasonable prices in Canada. Therefore, a group of graduating students and I have created a small private studio. Unfortunately there is only an etching press, but that means I will have a chance to experiment and get away from what has become too familiar.
